IFRS and Technical Accounting Intern | Longroad Energy

The Tone:
This is an internship at Longroad Energy, located in Boston, MA (hybrid). Longroad Energy is a U.S.-based company founded in 2016, focused on developing, owning, and operating energy and digital infrastructure projects across North America. The company has developed or acquired 7.6 GW of renewable energy projects and currently owns 5.8 GW, operating and managing 7.4 GW in total. This internship program provides college juniors, entering their senior year in the Fall, with a 10–12-week summer program offering paid, challenging hands-on learning experiences, mentoring, and exposure to both department-specific and company-wide personnel and activities. This role matters because it offers a broader perspective on contract analyses, record-to-report processes, and the complex accounting challenges inherent in the renewable energy industry.

What You’ll Actually Do
• IFRS Accounting and Reporting: Participate in the IFRS record-to-report process for one quarterly close during the July timeframe.
• IFRS Accounting and Reporting: Assist with ad hoc requests for information from investors.
• Technical Accounting: Implement an interactive AI tool to be used upstream to improve company-wide understanding of downstream accounting implications from contract initiation and negotiation.
• Technical Accounting: Support technical accounting analyses as needed.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Undergraduate student at a 4-year college, specifically a college junior entering their senior year in the Fall.
• Experience: Not specified in years, but a preferred major in accounting, finance, or other related fields is desired.
• Skills: Strong written and organizational skills, Microsoft Excel proficiency, curiosity, and a self-starter mindset are required.
• Bonus: An interest in the renewable energy industry, a GPA of 3.0 or higher, and a cover letter are highly preferred.
