2027 Spring Accounting Intern/Co-op | MKS Inc.

The Tone:
This is an internship / early career role at MKS Inc., within its Optical Sensing Products (OSP) division. MKS Inc. is a company focused on its optical sensing products. This position offers a hands-on opportunity for students to support daily accounting activities and learn how financial processes operate within a real business environment. The intern will build practical accounting skills and gain valuable exposure to critical areas like Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and month-end tasks.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Process Accounts Payable: Support invoice entry, coding verification, purchase order matching, and prepare items for payment.
• Manage Accounts Receivable: Create customer invoices, record payments, and assist with aging reviews.
• Reconcile Financial Accounts: Compare system balances, identify variances, and prepare supporting documentation.
• Maintain Accurate Financial Records: Keep financial data precise within ERP systems and shared accounting folders.
• Assist with Month-End Close: Support data validation, report extraction, and journal entry support tasks.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Enrolled in a Bachelor’s Degree program in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related major, suitable for an entry-level intern/co-op.
• Experience: Basic understanding of accounting concepts, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, debits, and credits; must be available for the entire 4-month assignment.
• Skills: Good attention to detail for number entry and document verification; comfortable using Excel for sorting, filtering, and simple formulas; clear communication and good organization skills for handling paperwork and digital files; ability to spot mistakes and ask questions when discrepancies arise; willingness to learn ERP or accounting software with training.
