2027 Audit Summer Internship – Early Careers | Wells Fargo

The Tone:
This is a 10-week summer internship at Wells Fargo, located in Charlotte, NC, Irving, TX, and Minneapolis, MN. Wells Fargo is a major financial institution that offers a comprehensive range of banking, investment, and mortgage products and services to customers across the globe. This role is vital within Internal Audit, as it provides independent assurance by evaluating the effectiveness of risk management, control, and governance processes across the entire enterprise. Participants contribute to maintaining the company’s operational integrity and strategic alignment.

The TL;DR

• Mission: Evaluate the effectiveness of risk management, control, and governance processes within the enterprise to provide independent assurance.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft Office suite of products, AI-powered productivity tools (chat-based assistants, Microsoft Copilot)

What You’ll Actually Do
• Participate: Engage in the formal 10-week internship program within the Internal Audit function.
• Complete: Execute various audit assignments, gaining familiarity with company policies, procedures, and audit methodology.
• Work: Operate under the guidance and direction of more experienced audit staff and managers.
• Collaborate: Consult with peers, colleagues, and managers to achieve program goals and audit objectives.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-level position for students currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Economics, Finance, Operations, Supply Chain, Information Systems, or a Technology-related field, with an expected graduation date between December 2027 and June 2028.
• Experience: At least 6 months of work experience, or equivalent experience demonstrated through a combination of work, training, military service, or education.
• Skills: Demonstrated ability to learn quickly, critical thinking, data analysis, problem-solving, effective collaboration, clear communication, business reporting, integrity, and sound financial judgment.
• Bonus: Involvement in extracurricular enrichment activities such as volunteerism, student organizations, study abroad programs, or leadership positions; intermediate skills in Microsoft Office; familiarity with AI-powered productivity tools with a strong interest in responsible use; demonstrated ability to execute with a bias for action; demonstrated business acumen and commitment to excellent service.
