This role is essential for candidates pursuing an accounting degree to gain practical experience across various client engagements, supporting both field and office operations.

• Mission: The intern will assist with diverse accounting, auditing, and tax preparation tasks to support client engagements and firm operations.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Assist: Assist with the study and evaluation of internal accounting controls.
• Prepare: Prepare financial statements in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
• Examine: Examine client reconciliations of bank accounts and investigate discrepancies.
• Review: Review data input, identify and resolve technical tax issues, and assist in the review of tax preparations.
• Schedule: Schedule computations of accruals and document the underlying support for those accruals.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level. Currently enrolled in college pursuing a degree with a major or concentration in accounting.
• Experience: Demonstrated knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and auditing standards, along with a working understanding of federal and state income tax laws and regulations.
• Skills: Effective written and verbal communication, professional conduct and appearance, accuracy in handling numeric and alphabetic information, and proficiency in using available firm resources and computer software.
