Accounting Operations Analyst | Apex Fintech Solutions
The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Apex Fintech Solutions, which offers a hybrid work schedule. Apex builds tech-forward solutions that simplify, automate, and facilitate access to financial markets for all, supporting clients like Stash, Betterment, and SoFi. This Accounting Operations Analyst role is critical for supporting the Finance Operations & Consolidations team by managing key financial calendars, preparing essential reporting, and contributing to process-improvement and AI initiatives, ensuring smooth financial operations.

• Mission: Manages the quarterly analytics calendar, prepares variance/flux analysis reporting, and assists with eliminations and allocation journal entries for the Finance Operations team.
• Tech Stack: NetSuite, FloQast, Excel, AI/automation tools
What You’ll Actually Do
• Calendar Ownership: Own and manage the FQ (quarterly analytics) calendar, including deadlines for monthly flux commentary and quarterly variance analysis submissions.
• Variance Reporting: Prepare and compile variance/flux analysis reporting used in the quarterly analytic review process for internal and external auditors.
• Journal Entries: Prepare eliminations and allocations journal entries as part of the monthly/quarterly consolidation close.
• Systems Projects: Assist with FQ and NetSuite-related projects, including system enhancements, testing, and reporting improvements.
• AI Champion: Partner with the Senior Manager to identify, test, and help roll out AI and automation tools that reduce manual effort in close, consolidation, and reporting workflows.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. This role is suitable for early-to-mid career professionals, with internship or co-op experience considered.
• Experience: 1-3 years of relevant accounting/finance experience. Requires a working knowledge of journal entries, intercompany eliminations, and/or basic consolidation concepts.
• Skills: Strong Excel skills with comfort working with account-level GL detail, analytical ability to summarize account-level detail into clear explanations, and highly organized to manage recurring calendars and deadlines. Strong written communication skills are essential for explaining financial detail to non-technical stakeholders. Comfort with process-improvement and AI/automation tools is also expected.
• Bonus: Prior exposure to financial services, broker-dealer, or fintech accounting. Experience supporting an external audit or quarterly review process. Exposure to NetSuite or another ERP system. Exposure to FloQast or another close-management/automation tool.
