Credit Risk Analyst | Citigroup Inc.

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Citigroup Inc., located in Budapest, Hungary. Citi is building out Institutional Credit Management (ICM) to enhance its business control and governance framework for wholesale credit risk across its Institutional Client Group. This role contributes to the Citibank Europe Plc (CEP) Credit Risk Team, which manages CEP’s entire loan book and partners with other risk management teams globally. The Credit Risk Analyst will be vital in preparing, submitting, and quality assuring CEP obligors’ credit assessments, ensuring integrated credit underwriting, identification, measurement, management, and monitoring.

• Pay: 6 465 320,00 Ft – 10 069 680,00 Ft yearly
• Team: The CEP Risk Analyst Unit within the Institutional Credit Management (ICM), Credit Underwriting (ICM-UW) function.
• Mission: To ensure comprehensive credit underwriting, identification, measurement, management, and monitoring for wholesale credit risk, specifically by preparing and quality assuring credit assessments for CEP obligors.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Review: Review and complete CEP Credit Approval Memo packages.
• Analyze: Analyze and assess risks in credit relationships and formulate respective recommendations for CEP Credit risk management approval.
• Collaborate: Work closely with Credit Officers, Relationship/Product Managers, and Traders/Salespeople to facilitate transaction approvals.
• Standardize: Provide credit input to standardize credit-related documents and reporting for the CEP portfolio.
• Ensure: Ensure CEP Credit Risk MCA and Controls are effective.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level career level in finance. Requires good knowledge of credit products and specific industry characteristics (e.g., manufacturing, services, banks). Fluency in English, both reading and speaking, is essential.
• Experience: 1-2 years of credit or related experience.
• Skills: Strong analytical skills, ability to decompose transactions into the core risks, good quantitative skills, and sound Risk and Business judgment on the full spectrum of risk issues including Operational and Franchise Risk.
• Bonus: University Degree/Graduate Degree in Business, Finance or Economics or equivalent is a plus. Knowledge of other languages is beneficial.
