Vice President – Internal Audit | Maples Group

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Maples Group, located in the Cayman Islands. This Vice President position is crucial for maintaining the Group’s integrity and compliance by leading internal audits across its global operations. The role ensures robust risk management and control environments by identifying key risk areas and providing practical recommendations.

• Team: Internal Audit team within the financial services business
• Mission: Conduct internal audits globally, identify key risk areas, provide practical recommendations, and monitor the risk environment for the Maples Group.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Conduct Audits: Lead internal audits for the Maples Group’s offices across the Caribbean, North America, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.
• Report Findings: Conduct fieldwork, discuss potential findings with auditees, and prepare draft audit reports for each engagement.
• Present Recommendations: Ensure audit reports clearly identify key risk areas, provide practical recommendations, and present these findings to senior management and audit committees.
• Manage Risk: Monitor the risk environment, assess emerging risks, review and develop control matrices, and track open audit observations.
• Support Projects: Assist with project work related to policy and procedure development, new systems implementation, and general operational risk initiatives.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Hold a professional graduate accountancy qualification.
• Experience: A minimum of 5 years of internal audit experience gained in the financial services industry, including an understanding of investment funds and structured finance.
• Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, an eye for detail, and excellent organization skills.
• Bonus: Indisputably high ethical standards and autonomy.
