Analyst, Asset Based Finance – Portfolio Management | Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (MUFG), located in an MUFG office or client sites four days per week and remote one day. MUFG is a leading global financial group striving to make a difference for clients, organizations, and communities. This role is crucial for the Asset Based Finance group, responsible for the ongoing oversight of a portfolio of asset based lending clients across the US. The Analyst plays a key role in evaluating creditworthiness, monitoring collateral, and supporting efforts to grow revenue.

• Mission: Evaluate client creditworthiness, monitor collateral, and support revenue growth for asset based lending clients.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Monitor financial performance and collateral adequacy by evaluating borrowing base components and assessing liquidity levels.
• Prepare detailed written credit analyses and applications, including evaluation of loan purpose, structure, and risk factors.
• Contribute to revenue and return growth goals by collaborating with portfolio officers, RMs, and origination staff to enhance client relationships and cross-sell opportunities.
• Assist with closely monitoring troubled credits, recommending appropriate courses of action, and participating in strategy reviews regarding performance and exposure.
• Support the management of bank groups as an agent, addressing client needs, structuring solutions, negotiating terms, and managing bank group communication.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree, ideally with a business major, pursuing a career as a corporate finance professional with a credit and analytical background.
• Experience: Minimum of 1 year of relevant corporate financial analysis experience; specific experience in asset-based lending is a plus.
• Skills: Strong written and interpersonal communication skills, financial modeling and analytical skills, excellent analytic and quantitative skills.
• Bonus: A CFA Level 1, 2 or 3 or an MBA; some background with loan documentation; completion of a formal credit-training program at a major bank.
