Tax Associate, Business Incentives Group – Summer 2027 | BDO USA

This is a seasonal early career role at BDO USA, located in Atlanta, GA. BDO USA is a professional services firm with a significant national presence, providing assurance, tax, and advisory services to clients across various industries in the U.S. and globally. This role is integral to the Business Incentives Group (BIG), a rapidly growing national consulting practice. You will contribute to BDO’s core purpose by helping companies identify and claim government incentives that promote innovation, economic growth, job creation, and investments in sustainability and green initiatives.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Client Engagement Execution: Proactively assist in the execution of multiple client engagements, helping companies and individuals identify, document, and support government incentives.
• Collaborative Innovation: Collaborate with other BIG professionals across all business aspects, including innovating and developing better strategies and processes for services and marketing.
• Stakeholder Relationship Management: Establish effective working relationships directly with BIG professionals, internal BDO employees, and external clients to understand their business operations and drivers.
• Professional Acumen Development: Contribute to the development of your own technical acumen in professional service aspects, including technical, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication.
• Business and Practice Growth: Actively participate in business development activities to further develop a professional network and help identify opportunities for new and existing clients, while contributing to the culture of BIG and BDO.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree required; preferred focus in Accounting, Finance, Computer Science, Engineering, Data Analytics, Communications, or Law.
• Experience: Entry-level role.
• Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication, superior organizational and project management skills, ability to interact effectively at all organizational levels, advanced Microsoft Excel, intermediate Microsoft Word.
• Bonus: Preferred leadership experience, preferred accounting-based internship, entrepreneurial spirit, strong initiative and drive to lead while seeking opportunities to grow the practice.
