Staff Accountant | Lennar
The Tone:
This is a full-time, in-person role at Lennar. This Staff Accountant role is a core member of the accounting organization, crucial for supporting general accounting processes and ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with US GAAP. The ideal candidate will be a problem solver motivated by opportunities to enhance and optimize existing processes.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Processes: Support General Accounting, Fixed Assets, Leases, Homebuilding & Inventory, Accruals, and Allocations processes.
• Transactions: Prepare accounting transactions and maintain records, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with US GAAP.
• Close Activities: Contribute to month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities by preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
• Policies & Controls: Assist in developing and maintaining accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to drive efficiency and accuracy.
• Audits: Aid internal and external audits by compiling schedules, documentation, and responses under supervision.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; strong knowledge of US GAAP; experience working in a SOX-compliant environment.
• Experience: 1-2 years of accounting experience, including public accounting and/or public company experience.
• Skills: Excellent written and oral communication skills; familiarity with process improvement frameworks such as Lean or Six Sigma; knowledge of digital technologies and their impact on the record to report process, including analytical, close, and reporting tools, and ERP systems.
• Bonus: Master’s degree; real estate and/or construction industry experience; experience with agentic AI and LLM tools (e.g., Copilot / Claude), JD Edwards EnterpriseOne, Essbase, Hyperion, Blackline, Power BI, and/or Alteryx; CPA or CPA candidate.
