Product Manager, Retail Banking & Cash Management, Assistant Vice President | Morgan Stanley
The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Morgan Stanley, located in the United States. Morgan Stanley is a global financial services leader with core businesses in Wealth Management, Investment Management, and Institutional Securities. This role is crucial for integrating E*TRADE’s Banking Services, supporting growth opportunities, and enhancing the retail banking and cash management product suite for clients. The position focuses on building high-quality products and continually improving existing client experiences to deepen client relationships within the U.S. Banks.

• Mission: Supporting ongoing product enhancements and new initiatives across the retail banking and cash management product suite.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Product Management: Manage existing retail banking and cash management products and lead new initiatives to increase client adoption across various channels.
• Cross-functional Leadership: Lead and coordinate diverse cross-functional teams, including Digital Platforms, Technology, Operations, Marketing, Sales, Legal, Compliance, and Finance, to launch and implement new initiatives.
• Client Experience: Partner with Digital Platforms colleagues to develop requirements, test their implementation, and deliver elegant digital experiences that foster broader and deeper deposit relationships for Bank clients.
• Project Execution: Maintain rigorous project management discipline by documenting and tracking key tasks, proactively identifying and resolving risks, dependencies, and roadblocks, and providing clear progress readouts to stakeholders.
• Performance Analysis: Analyze product trends, develop and track key performance indicators, partner with Technology to improve reporting, and prepare analyses for senior management with clear findings, recommendations, and insights.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field; liberal arts degrees are also welcomed. Professional experience should be in Product Management, Banking Services, Technology, Strategy, or Consulting.
• Experience: 3-5 years of professional experience in a relevant field. Demonstrated success in managing multi-stakeholder products and projects, driving initiatives from problem definition through implementation, and structuring ambiguous problems to develop clear recommendations.
• Skills: Analytical and strategic thinking to tackle unstructured problems, strong product intuition and user empathy, demonstrated ability to take ownership, influence across stakeholders, and drive complex initiatives forward without direct authority, and excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.
• Bonus: Experience in Banking Product Management is a plus, along with familiarity with retail or private banking products, economics, the rate environment, and market trends.
