Execution PMO Lead | General Dynamics Information Technology

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at General Dynamics Information Technology, located in Washington, DC. General Dynamics Information Technology delivers technology solutions and mission services to every major agency across the U.S. government, defense, and intelligence community. This role is critical for directing the project management organization responsible for the successful planning, coordination, and delivery of enterprise IT modernization and integration initiatives. It provides leadership, operational structure, and disciplined execution across all active projects, ensuring consistent and predictable performance.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Leadership: Lead the PMO execution function, overseeing project managers delivering IT modernization, system integration, and enterprise-wide technology initiatives.
• Standards: Establish, implement, and continuously refine PMO process standards, delivery frameworks, templates, and governance protocols to ensure consistency and efficiency across all projects.
• Performance: Oversee project performance against SLAs, performance metrics, and contractual commitments, driving accountability and proactive issue resolution.
• Guidance: Provide coaching, mentorship, and operational guidance to project managers, building a high-performing, customer-focused PMO team.
• Improvement: Drive continual service improvement across delivery processes, workflows, tools, and methodologies.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in business, IT, engineering, or a related field with a focus on leading project management organizations.
• Experience: 10+ years of project or program management experience, including IT modernization or integration initiatives, and demonstrated success leading project managers and PMO functions.
• Skills: PMO Best Practices, PMO Leadership, Enterprise IT Delivery, Stakeholder Engagement, Operational Change Management.
• Bonus: PMP or equivalent certification preferred.
