Special Situations Analyst-Associate 2027 | Bain Capital

The Tone:
This is a two-year program at Bain Capital, located in Hong Kong, with potential for ongoing employment. What You’ll Actually Do
• Research: Perform fundamental company-specific research in industry sectors, including visiting company management and conducting original on-site investigations with customers and suppliers.
• Analysis: Conduct industry-level analyses to inform the investment process and provide critical context for opportunities.
• Modeling: Build earnings models and perform comprehensive valuation analyses for potential investments.
• Recommendations: Formulate proactive buy/sell recommendations and communicate investment views effectively and concisely with team members.
• Process: Learn and adopt the firm’s straightforward investment process, characterized by direct verbal communication and data-driven analysis.

The Must-Haves
• Background: University degree from a highly regarded institution. Entry-level Analyst/Associate position with foundational business and investing experience.
• Experience: Minimum of one year of post-undergrad business and/or investing experience with a highly regarded investment management, banking, or private equity firm, including experience analyzing and evaluating companies.
• Skills: Strong analytical and modeling capability; a fundamental, analytically-driven approach to investing; excellent communication skills to synthesize complex analyses and articulate insightful conclusions.
• Bonus: Experience interacting with and assessing senior management teams; ability to work collaboratively in team environments; self-motivated, high-energy, and naturally inquisitive with a creative approach to due diligence.
