Finance Operations Intern | Emerson

The Tone:
This is a Summer 2027 internship at Emerson, located in Round Rock, Texas. What You’ll Actually Do
• Cost Modeling: Develop and maintain financial models essential for accurately calculating fully burdened cost rates.
• Budget Analysis: Assist with the comprehensive preparation and analysis of budgets across a variety of functional areas within the company.
• Audit Support: Provide direct support for finance team activities, aiding in processes related to external audits.
• Project Contribution: Contribute to special financial projects, specifically those involving deferred revenue recognition and key financial reporting initiatives.
• Process Optimization: Identify opportunities for process improvements, actively assisting in the development of new reports, dashboards, and analytical tools to enhance efficiency and reporting.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university, pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. Must have legal authorization to work in the United States, as sponsorship will not be provided for this position.
• Experience: No specific professional experience required; previous internship, co-op, or project work in a professional environment is preferred.
• Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills; effective written and verbal communication skills; ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Bonus: Entering junior or senior year of undergraduate studies; coursework in GAAP, accounting principles, or financial reporting; a strong interest in financial analysis, budgeting, reporting, and business operations; experience using data analysis tools, dashboards, or reporting platforms; demonstrated leadership through academic, volunteer, extracurricular, or community activities; strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy; and an ability to identify innovative solutions and recommend process improvements.
