Federal Tax Services Intern – Winter 2028 | RSM US LLP

• Mission: Contribute to the provision of federal tax services, including planning, research, and return preparation, for various client types to ensure compliance and effective financial management.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Collaboration: Collaborate with a team focusing on diverse tax specialty areas such as accounting for income taxes, corporate taxation, federal credits and incentives, individual taxation, mergers and acquisitions, pass-through entity taxation, private client services, and not for profit organizations.
• Research: Conduct tax planning and research for clients.
• Preparation: Prepare federal and state & local tax returns.
• Compliance: Develop an understanding of tax regulations and accounting pronouncements.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level candidate pursuing a B.A. / B.S. degree or equivalent from an accredited university, with an Accounting Major and at least 90 credit hours completed.
• Experience: Ability to travel to assigned client locations with access to and the capacity to arrange for reliable modes of transportation.
• Skills: Demonstrated capability in tax planning, tax research, tax return preparation, and understanding tax regulations and accounting pronouncements.
• Bonus: A minimum 3.0 GPA is preferred. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Excel, ability to work effectively on a team, and ability to work and multitask in a fast-paced environment are also preferred.
