Career Leadership Program (June 2027) | Simmons Foods
The Tone:
This is a full-time developmental program at Simmons Foods, a company operating multiple poultry, pet food, and animal nutrition plants. It involves extensive regional travel during the initial six-month rotation, leading to an in-person Production Supervisor role. This program is designed to cultivate future leaders through intensive rotational experiences and extensive leadership development. This role is crucial for building a strong pipeline of Production Supervisors, ensuring operational excellence, and upholding the company’s commitment to “Putting People First.”
The TL;DR

• Location: Regional Travel (initial 6 months), then In-person (post-placement)
• Mission: Create a pipeline of leaders ready for placement into Production Supervisor positions after completing this intensive rotational development program.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Rotational Experience: Gain hands-on experience in live operations across multiple poultry, pet food, and animal nutrition plants, with exposure to supply chain, sales, finance, and continuous improvement.
• Leadership Development: Develop leadership skills through classroom training, mentoring, and on-the-job coaching provided by the program.
• Special Projects: Accept responsibility for special projects that drive innovation and continuous improvement, working to achieve goals and key business metrics.
• Performance Management: Receive ongoing evaluation, feedback, and coaching throughout the development program to ensure successful completion and graduation.
• Supervisory Leadership: Lead, coach, and motivate production team members to deliver products, ensure safety, and drive continuous improvement in assigned production lines or areas post-program placement.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree or 2 years of education with 2 years of related experience, or 4 years of related experience.
• Experience: Willingness to lead and take charge, with a desire to care for people; proven ability to drive innovation and continuous improvement.
• Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite; ability to read and write English; familiar with computers.
• Bonus: Experience within a food processing organization; military experience welcomed.
