Internal Communications Lead – Procurement, Finance, Strategy, Legal | Whirlpool
The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Whirlpool, located in Benton Harbor, Michigan. This Internal Communications Lead role is critical for developing and executing communication strategies that will inform, engage, and inspire the global employee base, thereby cultivating a strong organizational culture and ensuring alignment on core business priorities across key corporate functions.
The TL;DR

• Type: Fully in-office, Monday through Friday
• Location: In-person, USA(Michigan)
• Team: Part of the Communications General team, reports to the HR Senior Director of Corporate Functions, and is also part of Whirlpool Corporation’s broader communications team.
• Mission: Develop and execute communication strategies that inform, engage, and inspire a global employee base, cultivating a strong organizational culture and ensuring alignment on core business priorities.
• Tech Stack: Company intranet site, internal corporate communications, and other communications channels.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Lead: Shape internal communications strategy and efforts for Global Strategic Sourcing, Finance, Corporate Strategy, and Legal teams.
• Manage: Develop and distribute internal communications and programs using various platforms and channels that support corporate communication strategy.
• Advise: Handle highly sensitive, confidential projects and counsel management on communication or strategic Corporate topics.
• Plan: Work with leadership teams to develop and manage an editorial calendar of events, preparing content and presentations for key initiatives, operations updates, and meetings.
• Measure: Create and monitor benchmark data and criteria to assess the effectiveness of communications initiatives.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Communications or a related field.
• Experience: 5+ years of progressive corporate or internal communications experience supporting senior-level executives; 3+ years developing and implementing change management communication plans for large, global organizations.
• Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, strong business acumen and financial literacy, ability to simplify complex business information for diverse audiences, strong organizational and project management skills.
• Bonus: Master’s degree; proven track record as a strategic communications leader driving organizational change, ensuring employee engagement, and managing cross-functional projects; strong ability to influence outcomes and convey value stories; experience with digital and video storytelling approaches; experience managing multiple, complex projects simultaneously in a changing environment; intelligent risk taker and creative problem solver; strong content design and quality judgment skills; strong presentation development and execution; experience with management scripting and event program development; experience working for a consumer products or iconic brand; experience managing internal communications across multiple global locations and time zones.
