Centre Manager – MFI South | Bajaj Finserv

The Tone:
This is a full-time, field-based role at Bajaj Finserv, operating within local branches to serve Microfinance Joint Liability Group (JLG) customers. Bajaj Finserv is a leading financial services company, and this position is integral to its microfinance operations, specifically in the MFI South region. The Centre Manager is responsible for the crucial activities of sales and timely collections for microfinance loans, adhering strictly to company policies. This role demands meticulous attention to detail in qualitative customer sourcing, including comprehensive village surveys and income assessments, while concurrently fostering and maintaining healthy customer relationships at the ground level.

• Mission: Drive sales and collections for Microfinance JLG customers, ensuring qualitative sourcing through robust verification processes and maintaining strong, cordial customer relationships within the assigned geographical location.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Customer Outreach and Sales Strategy: Actively conduct comprehensive village surveys to identify and prospect potential new customers in designated villages. Organize and lead prospecting briefings to thoroughly explain Bajaj Finserv’s Microfinance Joint Liability Group (JLG) product offerings, ensuring clarity and understanding among all potential attendees.
• Customer Sourcing and Financial Education: Source new customers effectively within the allocated locations, facilitating the formation of robust JLG groups. Simultaneously, actively promote essential financial literacy concepts among these potential borrowers, empowering them with knowledge for responsible financial management.
• Loan Application and Approval Management: Meticulously collect all necessary information for customer sourcing and accurately perform data entry or upload and validate documents directly onto the Loan Origination System (LOS). Diligently follow the entire sourcing process as defined in the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and coordinate proactively with the Branch Manager for all required approvals and with the Credit Operations Officer at the branch for seamless loan disbursements.
• Portfolio Management and Collections Excellence: Efficiently plan and pre-notify customers of Centre Meeting schedules, striving for 100% participation of all borrowers in these meetings. Manage a substantial customer portfolio of 450-500 clients, ensuring collections are precisely executed from customers on scheduled centre meeting days. Ensure 100% deposition of all recovered funds at defined points of disposition, strictly adhering to SOPs, and carry out thorough end-use monitoring of loans according to established processes.
• Relationship Building and Compliance Adherence: Cultivate and maintain healthy, cordial relationships with all potential and existing borrowers, actively resolving customer queries and identifying opportunities to promote top-ups or cross-sell additional products as defined for the branch. Uphold 100% compliance with all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and ensure good conduct in all practices as defined within the branch operating model. Additionally, create and submit a daily report of planned and executed tasks to the Branch Manager, and ensure recovery disposition reconciliation is accurately completed with the Credit and Operations Officer on schedule, while maintaining strict Centre Meeting discipline and adhering to the code of conduct and critical parameters like lead to login execution.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Hold a Graduation or Undergraduate degree, coupled with foundational and practical core domain knowledge in the Microfinance Joint Liability Group (JLG) business model.
• Experience: Possess a minimum of 1 to 2 years of direct and relevant experience specifically within the Microfinance JLG business sector, demonstrating practical application of industry processes.
• Skills: Demonstrated proficiency in customer prospecting and sales execution, robust capabilities in loan collection and recovery management, excellent customer relationship management and communication skills, meticulous data entry and documentation, and unwavering commitment to compliance with all standard operating procedures and code of conduct.
