Senior Managed Care Pharmacy Consultant – Indianapolis Health (Remote) | Milliman

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Milliman, located remotely anywhere in the US, with an office base in Indianapolis, IN. Milliman delivers market-leading services and solutions globally, addressing critical issues such as healthcare financing, risk management, and business transformation. This role is pivotal in helping pharmaceutical manufacturers develop and execute access strategies for new technologies, leveraging deep expertise in managed care, P&T, and formulary strategy to solve complex business challenges.

• Team: Life sciences consulting team within the Indianapolis Health practice, comprising actuaries, data analysts, pharmacists, and graphic designers.
• Mission: Develop access strategies for new pharmaceutical technologies that address complicated business challenges, leveraging expertise in managed care, P&T, and formulary strategy.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft O365 products (Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint, Excel, Word)

What You’ll Actually Do
• Business Development: Proactively identify and advance business development opportunities with new and existing clients.
• Client Leadership: Lead client relationships for a variety of projects, focusing on strategic pharmaceutical consulting initiatives.
• Project Planning: Develop detailed project plans and prepare presentations/reports that communicate project status and enhance leadership’s understanding of complex initiatives.
• Project Execution: Lead the planning and execution of all assigned projects efficiently, mentoring and developing supporting staff resources, and ensuring compliance quality assurance procedures.
• Operational Management: Manage operational aspects of projects and scope, including meeting facilitation and documentation, while appropriately raising awareness on at-risk items to minimize risk exposure.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree. Senior-level professional experience in managed care pharmacy, P&T, and formulary strategy.
• Experience: 15+ years in a managed care pharmacy setting (e.g., PBM, Health Plan, or related) and 10+ years developing and executing on a variety of pharmaceutical projects simultaneously.
• Skills: Knowledge of the US healthcare system relating to benefit design and reimbursement across Commercial, Medicare, and Medicaid channels; demonstrated ability to interact with senior leadership; effective communication and presentation skills in both virtual and in-person settings; excellent facilitation and interpersonal skills for cross-functional teams; highly proficient in Microsoft O365 products including Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
