Tax Intern | Grant Thornton (US)
The Tone:
This is a hybrid internship at Grant Thornton, requiring in-person attendance at various US Grant Thornton offices or client sites. Grant Thornton operates as a multinational, multidisciplinary platform with over 12,000 professionals, delivering enhanced advisory and tax services across the U.S., Ireland, and other global markets. In this role, you will be exposed to fundamental tax procedures, including consulting and return preparation, engaging in tax research and planning. This internship offers a unique opportunity to collaborate with senior leaders and peers, develop new skills, and build lasting professional relationships within the Grant Thornton team.
The TL;DR

• Team: Member of the engagement team, working with Partners, Senior Executives, and peers.
• Mission: To assist engagement teams with various tax procedures, including consulting, return preparation, research, and planning, contributing to diverse client projects.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Review: Review data input, identify and resolve technical tax issues, and assist in the review of tax preparations completed by the firm’s team in India.
• Respond: Respond to inquiries received from the IRS and other taxing authorities.
• Research: Identify, research, and assess various tax issues, providing information and insights to senior staff members.
• Manage: Identify and carry out assigned projects, demonstrating project planning and time management skills.
• Collaborate: Work collaboratively with client team members, building rapport and strong client relationships across various industries.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting.
• Experience: Minimum overall GPA of 3.0/4.0.
• Skills: Excellent analytical, communication (written and verbal), and interpersonal skills; strong technical aptitude; demonstrated project management skills including planning and time management; ability to work efficiently and effectively in a complex team environment.
• Bonus: Willingness and ability to work additional hours as needed; ability to travel to various client sites on short notice; authorization to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future.
