Intern – CFO – FP&A (Kite) | Kite Pharma

The Tone:
This is a full-time internship at Kite Pharma, located in Santa Monica, CA. Kite is a biopharmaceutical company dedicated to curing cancer by developing innovative personalized CAR T-cell therapies. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to high-impact projects, gaining real-world corporate finance experience within the biotechnology industry, and helping to shape the company’s future in business and medical science. The intern will support the mission of making bigger advances in cancer therapies.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Support financial planning and investment activities, including conducting research, performing analysis, and preparing a primary research project presentation.
• Assist with financial close and forecast activities, performing variance analysis, managing budgeting processes, and maintaining compliance records.
• Prepare ad hoc reporting and analysis to provide valuable insights for business decisions.
• Develop an understanding of target marketing strategies and the biotechnology industry landscape.
• Showcase your completed work and learning with a final presentation near the conclusion of your internship.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Must be at least 18 years of age and enrolled full‑time in a Bachelor’s, Master’s, MBA, JD, or PhD program at a nationally accredited U.S. college or university, with continued full‑time enrollment required in the Fall semester following the internship. A minimum overall cumulative GPA of 2.8 is required.
• Experience: Must be independently authorized to work in the United States now and in the future without requiring school or employer sponsorship, and able to commit to a full‑time internship lasting 10–12 consecutive weeks between May and August at the designated site.
• Skills: Strong problem‑solving abilities, capacity to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, demonstrated commitment to inclusion and diversity, highly organized, detail‑oriented, and able to manage competing priorities.
• Bonus: Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) is preferred.
