Sales Development Program – Architectural Track (Midwest/Indiana) | Allegion
The Tone:
This is a 12-month rotational training and development program at Allegion, based in the Midwest/Indiana region, with required training and travel to Denver, CO, Kentucky, and Ohio. Allegion, a global company with over 14,000 employees and more than 40 brands, specializes in pioneering safety and security solutions around the doorway and beyond, aiming to create peace of mind. This program offers a unique opportunity for individuals without prior selling or security hardware knowledge to launch a career in sales, providing comprehensive training to succeed in the evolving world of door hardware and security products. The role is designed to guide participants through varied learning environments, including classroom, field, office, and factory settings, ultimately leading to a full-time sales position within the organization.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Engage in comprehensive training: Fully participate in the Sales Development Program – Architectural Track (SDP-AT) to build expertise across industry knowledge, Allegion customer base, products, and operational processes.
• Complete intensive product and industry training: Attend a 6-month on-location training module at the Denver, CO Training Facility, learning from industry experts alongside other program participants, with corporate housing and temporary transportation provided.
• Immerse in architectural services: Participate in a 3-month local immersive architectural services training program curriculum, deepening knowledge about Allegion customers, products, and processes specific to the architectural segment.
• Gain broad field sales exposure: Conduct a 3-month field training rotation, coordinating and participating in joint sales calls throughout an assigned territory with members of the regional sales office, and representing Allegion at local security tradeshows.
• Build foundational relationships and utilize tools: Obtain an understanding of customers within the trade area to build appropriate relationships with decision-makers, learn Allegion’s organizational structure, and develop proficiency in utilizing tools like Dynamics CRM, Overtur, and PowerBI for project information.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employment visa sponsorship. No prior selling or security hardware knowledge is required for this development program.
• Experience: Not specified in terms of years.
• Skills: Strong mechanical and electronics aptitude; Detail-oriented with high organization and time management skills; Proficient with MS Office tools; Excellent verbal, written, and influencing communication skills, along with a bias for action; Ability to travel up to 20%.
• Bonus: Bachelor’s degree in Sales, Business, Construction, Engineering, Architecture, or Marketing is preferred.
