The Tone:

As an Accountant on our Property Management Client Accounting team, you will be responsible for the full-cycle of accounting for various commercial real estate properties, directly contributing to accurate financial reporting and ensuring client satisfaction. • Mission: Own the full-cycle accounting for assigned commercial real estate properties, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery of financial statements to clients and property managers.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Financial Statement Preparation: Prepare all aspects of the financial statement package for a set of commercial properties, including creating and posting journal entries, general ledger review, and completion of backup schedules.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with property managers to ensure financials are accurate and delivered timely, and serve as the primary accounting point of contact for clients and property managers.
• Transaction Management: Ensure all expenses, receipts, distributions, funding requests, and other accounting transactions for the period are accurately completed.
• Compliance and Audit: Review and audit financial information to ensure compliance with established procedures and accounting principles, consistently meeting internal and external reporting requirements.
• Financial Planning: Participate in budget and forecasting functions for the assigned property portfolio, responding to and resolving issues and requests from management teams and clients.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience in a core accounting domain.
• Experience: Minimum of 1-3 years of previous accounting experience, including an understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite applications; possesses effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills; works effectively in a team environment; customer service-oriented mindset; ability to analyze and problem solve effectively; detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy.
• Bonus: Experience with computerized accounting systems, specifically Yardi and/or MRI.
