Junior Staff Accountant | Health Plans, Inc.

• Mission: This role ensures the accuracy and efficiency of daily accounting routines, including reconciliations and audit preparation, to support the company’s financial operations and uphold high production standards.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Month-end Close Support: Support the Director of Finance by reconciling and preparing supporting schedules for month-end close activities.
• Account Reconciliations: Perform AR reconciliations, monthly bank reconciliations, and monthly reconciliations of various general ledger accounts.
• Audit Preparation: Update and develop various schedules as necessary during the year-end auditing period.
• Financial Information Assistance: Assist the Director of Finance with budgeting, forecasting, and preparing financial information requests.
• Team Backup: Cross-train on critical duties to provide backup for the Director of Finance when needed and assist with other accounting-related functions as they arise.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Associate’s Degree in Accounting/Finance or Business, or equivalent experience; this is an early career position.
• Experience: At least two years of experience in accounting or a related field.
• Skills: Effective verbal and written communication; strong analytical and organizational skills; ability to work independently and as part of a team; multitasking capability; proficiency in Microsoft Office, with strong skills in Excel.
• Bonus: Strong attention to detail and flexibility; consistent follow-through and follow-up; ability to work within specified timeframes and meet deadlines; capability to maintain confidentiality of work materials.
