Associate, Financial Reporting & Accounting | DBS Bank

The Tone:
This is a full-time, regular role at DBS Bank, located in One Island East, Hong Kong. Group Finance aims to deliver world-class standards in reporting, financial planning, and finance processes, providing insights and analyses for sound business decisions. This position is crucial for ensuring accurate financial accounting, maintaining robust controls, and supporting compliance with group and regulatory reporting requirements, contributing directly to the bank’s financial integrity and strategic decision-making.

What You’ll Actually Do
• General Ledger Management: Perform general ledger to source reconciliation and support core financial accounting and control duties.
• Month-End Operations: Execute month-end closing procedures, including the preparation of journal entries and supporting schedules for ledger posting.
• Financial Control Execution: Assist in performing financial control activities, such as inter-company account reconciliations and the investigation of identified discrepancies.
• Variance Analysis & Documentation: Analyze material variances in financial results during month-end and provide support in documenting explanations.
• Reporting & Improvements: Prepare schedules and regulatory returns for group reporting, and participate in Finance projects and Gen-AI initiatives to enhance efficiency.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree holder, preferably with a major in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
• Experience: More than 2 years of work experience; foundational knowledge of banking products and their associated accounting and regulatory reporting requirements.
• Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Bonus: Candidates with an audit background or experience in the financial services industry are welcome; strong interest in process improvement and Gen-AI tools; growth mindset; ability to work effectively under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
