Director, Revenue Accounting | Figure

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Figure, located remotely in the United States. Figure is transforming capital markets through blockchain, demonstrating its practical use in products for consumers and institutions. The company reimagines how loans are originated, funded, and traded, having originated over $22 billion in home equity loans and developed an ecosystem including a yield-bearing stablecoin. This role is crucial for leading all accounting aspects related to Figure’s technology and lending revenue, establishing scalable infrastructure, and ensuring accurate financial reporting for a rapidly growing platform.

• Team: Reports to the Controller, with the loan accounting function reporting into this role.
• Mission: Lead accounting across Figure’s technology and lending revenue and the balance sheet accounts that go with it.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Account: Take full accountability for month-end close across all revenue and its related balance sheet accounts, including loans, receivables, and reserves.
• Oversee: Oversee all accounting for loan origination, servicing, and sales, alongside technology and platform revenue, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Design: Design accounting frameworks and policies that are built to scale, anticipating the needs of Figure’s growing business.
• Partner: Serve as the primary accounting liaison to Product and Engineering, evaluating accounting implications from new product inception.
• Lead: Manage and grow a high-performing accounting team, including the loan accounting function, setting clear expectations and fostering accountability.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Director-level professional with progressive accounting experience, deep knowledge of GAAP revenue recognition, related balance sheet accounting, and reconciliation management at scale.
• Experience: 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 5 years in a people management role, ideally within fintech or a high-growth environment with complex revenue streams, and experience with SOX compliance.
• Skills: Strong analytical capabilities to investigate large, complex data sets, strong written and verbal communication for reporting to management, and the ability to translate accounting requirements into system and operational designs.
• Bonus: Experience managing accounting across multiple or diverse revenue streams is preferred.
