Staff Accountant | Addison Group

This is a hybrid full-time Staff Accountant role for an Addison Group client, located in Plymouth Meeting, PA. What You’ll Actually Do
• Month-End Close Management: Support and contribute to timely month-end close activities, including the preparation and analysis of financial results.
• Account Reconciliation & Resolution: Prepare and review balance sheet account reconciliations, proactively researching and resolving any discrepancies identified.
• Financial Variance Analysis: Analyze financial activity, investigate variances, and ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Inventory Support & Analysis: Assist with inventory reconciliations, research discrepancies, and contribute to related reserve analysis.
• Journal Entry & Fixed Asset Maintenance: Prepare accurate journal entries and accruals, develop supporting schedules, and maintain fixed asset accounting and reconciliations in line with company capitalization policies.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent work experience in core accounting principles.
• Experience: 2+ years of experience in accounting or a related field. Preferred experience includes general ledger accounting, reconciliations, accruals, and month-end close processes.
• Skills: Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Strong technical accounting and reconciliation skills. Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency, including working with large data sets and performing financial analysis. Ability to understand operational drivers behind financial results and investigate unusual activity. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with excellent attention to detail. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Strong interpersonal and customer service skills, coupled with the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team. A coachable mindset with a willingness to learn and grow in responsibility over time, and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately.
