Operation Trainee Skillbridge Program | Bunge

The Tone:
This is an early career program at Bunge, located in Destrehan, Louisiana, among other strategic locations across the US. As a premier agribusiness solutions provider, Bunge connects farmers to consumers globally, with a team of 37,000 dedicated employees operating in grain origination, storage, distribution, and oilseed processing. This Operation Trainee role is crucial for developing future operational leaders by providing hands-on training and foundational knowledge of Bunge’s complex operations. Participants will gain vital experience to prepare them for potential full-time leadership, engineering, or maintenance roles within the company, contributing directly to global food security and sustainability.

The TL;DR
• Role: Internship / Early Career
• Location: In-person, Destrehan, LA
• Mission: Solve operational challenges and contribute to continuous improvements within Bunge facilities through hands-on training and development.
• Tech Stack: standard PC applications

What You’ll Actually Do
• Lead: Champion Bunge’s safety culture by learning, understanding, and demonstrating safe work habits within the facility.
• Operate: Participate directly in the day-to-day physical operations of a Bunge facility to understand fundamental processes.
• Develop: Cultivate a thorough understanding of operational processes, demonstrating knowledge through verbal and written communication.
• Analyze: Assist location and corporate staff in evaluating changing operational conditions and communicate findings promptly.
• Optimize: Support the facility in prioritizing and optimizing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level. Approval to participate in the DOD SkillBridge program.
• Experience: Willingness to relocate for future growth opportunities and/or business demands.
• Skills:
• Exceptional verbal, written, and listening communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple and shifting work priorities, ambiguity, and change.
• Demonstrated mechanical and analytical aptitude with strong problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in standard PC applications.
• Bonus: Bachelor’s, Associate’s, or vocational degree.
