Accounting Manager | Abby Care

The company aims to address a growing care crisis by leveraging technology to enhance family-led care, drive stronger outcomes, and increase transparency across the healthcare system. The Accounting Manager will own daily accounting operations and support the month-end close process, performing critical tasks and analyses. This newly created role is vital for evolving the finance processes from an early stage to a modern, audit-ready function in a high-growth environment, contributing significantly to the objective of timely and accurate financial results.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Financial Close Management: Own and execute the monthly financial close processes, including the preparation and thorough review of journal entries, account reconciliations, financial reporting, and detailed flux analyses.
• Financial Statement Preparation: Prepare comprehensive financial statements for the organization, augmented with insightful business commentary to provide context and understanding.
• Accounts Payable and Disbursements: Manage all aspects of accounts payable, ensuring efficient and accurate processing of invoices and oversight of global disbursements.
• Audit and Compliance Support: Provide essential support for the annual external audit, which is scheduled for 2028, and assist with various tax and other compliance filings as required.
• Process Optimization and Automation: Proactively identify existing process issues and actively contribute to the optimization of accounting systems and the automation of routine tasks for improved efficiency.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or possess equivalent work experience that demonstrates a strong foundation for managing accounting functions.
• Experience: Possess at least 4 years of progressive accounting experience, including direct involvement in a high-growth startup environment. Experience in public accounting is a plus.
• Skills: Demonstrate strong proficiency with ERP systems and modern finance software tools, intermediate-level Excel skills for handling large datasets, keen attention to detail, accuracy, exceptional reconciliation abilities, and the capability to think independently, manage tight deadlines, and proactively solve problems.
• Bonus: Possess a CPA certification or be a CPA candidate, have prior public accounting experience, be familiar with ASC 606/954 specific to healthcare companies, or show a willingness to use AI to build workflows that enhance data quality and process efficiency.
