The Tone:
This is a full-time hybrid role at Principal, located in Des Moines, IA, blending at least three office days in a typical workweek. • Mission: This program develops high-potential individuals into future leaders by providing cross-functional understanding, leadership exposure, and project contributions.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Develop Leadership: Work on business objectives, receive individualized coaching and mentorship, and actively practice leadership skills through formal and informal experiences.
• Complete Rotations: Navigate four to six self-selected rotations, each approximately six months in length, to build a cross-functional understanding of the enterprise and gain exposure to diverse leadership styles.
• Execute Program Strategy: As a Level II Associate, you will execute the strategy for one of the program’s high-level initiatives, driving results through team performance and collaborating with stakeholders.
• Lead and Develop Others: As a Level III Associate, you will formally lead a Level I LDP Associate, supporting their growth and development and being challenged to drive optimal results through individuals.
• Contribute to Projects: Contribute to highly impactful projects during rotations, developing leadership capabilities and transferable skills, strengthening business and financial acumen, and expanding your professional network.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree required by start date, with a minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA upon graduation.
• Experience: Demonstrated exceptional business acumen and leadership skills through leadership positions, internships, or other work experience.
• Skills: Effective communication, reliability, a self-starter mindset, strategic and critical thinking, initiative to lead, and the ability to drive results through others.
• Bonus: Commitment to relocating to Des Moines, IA for the program’s duration and willingness to travel up to 5%, including overnight stays.
