Client Services Manager | ADP

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at ADP, located in Japan. ADP specializes in delivering managed payroll processing services to clients. This role is crucial for ensuring the accurate, timely, and compliant delivery of payroll services in accordance with Japanese statutory requirements and company standards. The Client Services Manager will be vital in maintaining strong client relationships, upholding operational discipline, and serving as a key point of contact for payroll-related escalations.

• Mission: To ensure the accurate, timely, and compliant delivery of payroll and HR-related services for assigned clients in Japan, while leading and developing a dedicated team.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Operational Management: Control and ensure payroll and Social Insurance processing schedules and related tasks for assigned client organizations, adhering to ADP and client requirements.
• Client Relationship Management: Manage client relationships through effective communication, regular service review meetings, and providing HR-related advice to clients and employees.
• Issue Resolution & Escalation: Act as the primary escalation point for payroll-related inquiries and issues, ensuring tracking, resolution, and effective communication to clients and senior stakeholders.
• Compliance & Quality Assurance: Monitor and enforce compliance with Japanese statutory requirements, including income tax, social insurance, and year-end adjustments, while ensuring high data accuracy and processing quality.
• Team Leadership & Development: Supervise, coach, and guide payroll team members, supporting their capability building in Japanese payroll regulations, system usage, and client service standards.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, focused on leading and managing client service and payroll operations.
• Experience: 5–8+ years of experience in Japan payroll operations, including 2+ years in team supervision or lead roles, within a client-facing, SLA-driven environment.
• Skills: Strong knowledge of Japanese payroll, tax, and social insurance regulations, fluent Japanese, and working proficiency in English.
