Sr. Corporate Communications Manager, Product Communications | Neurocrine Biosciences

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Neurocrine Biosciences, located in San Diego, California, USA. Neurocrine Biosciences is dedicated to discovering, developing, and commercializing life-changing treatments for patients with under-addressed neurological, psychiatric, endocrine, and immunological disorders. • Team: Individual contributor role, no direct people-management responsibility, leads through expertise, influence, and mentorship.
• Mission: Develop and shape integrated corporate and product communications strategies, and lead implementation of communication plans in support of assigned brands and therapeutic areas.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Strategy Development: Develop and shape integrated corporate and product communications strategies for assigned therapeutic areas and lead the implementation of communication plans.
• Agency and Team Leadership: Independently lead agency partners and cross-functional workstreams, providing strategic direction, oversight, and budget stewardship for communications programs.
• Content Creation: Develop press releases and other media materials to support campaigns, key data milestones, publications, scientific presentations, and awareness initiatives.
• Media Engagement: Identify and prepare appropriate internal and external spokespeople for media outreach, respond to media requests, and secure favorable press coverage.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Build and foster trusting and collaborative partnerships with brand teams, Corporate Affairs colleagues, Medical, Legal, Regulatory, and Compliance partners.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree, preferably in English, Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field. This is a senior-level communications role.
• Experience: 8+ years of communications experience in-house or within an agency, supporting corporate or product communications. Experience in the life sciences industry is strongly preferred.
• Skills: Advanced writing skills to develop clear, compelling, and compliant communications; deep media expertise including managing inquiries and supporting spokesperson preparation; strong business acumen to connect strategy to organizational objectives; and the ability to translate complex scientific, clinical, and business content into audience-appropriate messaging.
• Bonus: Master’s degree in a related field or MBA, 6+ years of similar experience, prior experience in product communications, healthcare communications, or product marketing, experience managing agencies, projects, and/or cross-functional workstreams, and knowledge of issues management and crisis communications.
