2027 Summer Intern: Financial Reporting – Corporate | Spectrum

The Tone:
This is a paid, full-time, 11-week internship at Spectrum. The TL;DR
• Role: Internship
• Type: Full-time
• Location: In-person

• Team: Works across the Financial Reporting Department, collaborating with Business Process and Controls, External Reporting, Consolidations, Non-Cable Operations & Corporate Accounting, and Technical Accounting teams.
• Mission: Ensure the accuracy of relevant financial data for Charter through various reporting, control, and accounting activities.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint

What You’ll Actually Do
• External Reporting: Review and perform tie-out procedures for Charter filings such as 10-Q and 10-K, and assist with supporting schedule tie-outs.
• Consolidations: Consolidate Charter financial data monthly and support quarterly close procedures related to pension, equity, debt, 401(k), RAP financials, and 5500s.
• Technical Accounting: Prepare lease review files, assist with contract analyses, complete quarterly completeness checks, prepare key quarterly accounting memos, and support investment procedures.
• Business Process & Controls: Gain exposure to SOX internal controls and walkthrough processes by attending meetings, reviewing documentation, and creating or updating process flowcharts.
• Corporate Accounting: Record journal entries and perform reconciliations for various business units within Charter’s non-cable operations.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor Degree, Entry-Level. Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting from an accredited college or university.
• Experience: Rising junior or senior with an expected graduation date between May 2028 and May 2029.
• Skills:
• Must have at least a 3.0 GPA or greater in current program.
• Authorization to work in the U.S. without restrictions or need for future sponsorship.
• Strong analytical problem solving and critical thinking skills.
• Strong organizational and planning skills, with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and deadlines.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Bonus:
• Planning to pursue a CPA license.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Willingness to learn, collaborate, and be flexible.
• Works well in a team environment.
