Accounting Intern (Assurance, Tax, or CAS) | Eide Bailly

The Tone:
This is a full-time internship at Eide Bailly, located in Fargo, ND, offered for Spring 2027 and Spring 2028. The TL;DR

• Mission: This role supports clients in Assurance, Tax, or Client Accounting Services, providing essential accounting services and contributing to client success.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Assurance Interns: Participate actively in client engagement meetings, travel frequently to client sites (requiring 10-40% travel), and meticulously prepare essential accounting-related reports for clients operating across a diverse range of industries.
• Tax Interns: Take responsibility for completing individual and business tax returns, which span various difficulty levels and numerous industries, carefully reviewing each tax situation to ensure the application of the maximum possible tax benefit.
• Client Accounting Services Interns: Provide comprehensive support to clients through the preparation of payroll reports, year-end tax forms, and periodic financial statements (monthly, quarterly, or annually), alongside assisting in the completion of the month-end process and performing accurate data entry for bank statements and other bookkeeping transactions.
• Client Engagement & Learning: Engage inquisitively in learning about various client business processes, sometimes traveling to different locations, to actively contribute to their success within your selected service line.
• Professional Excellence: Demonstrate strong organizational skills and the ability to effectively manage multiple tasks, consistently meeting deadlines while upholding the highest professional standards and maintaining strict client confidentiality at all times.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and actively on track to meet the requirements for sitting for the CPA license.
• Experience: This is an entry-level internship position designed for individuals eager to gain foundational hands-on experience in either assurance, tax, or client accounting services.
• Skills:
1. A foundational understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, or tax regulations.
2. Demonstrated interest in learning and applying specialized knowledge related to audit engagements, tax situations, or bookkeeping services.
