Corporate Tax Intern | Arconic

The Tone:
This is a corporate tax internship at Arconic, located in Pittsburgh, PA. Arconic Corporation is a leading provider of aluminum sheet, plate, and extrusions, as well as innovative architectural products for various markets. This role offers students a challenging and rewarding introduction to corporate tax, allowing them to gain practical experience in tax preparation and accounting within a company that values integrity, inclusion, and professional growth. The intern’s contributions will directly support the tax department’s operations, providing valuable exposure to real-world financial responsibilities.

The TL;DR

• Team: Corporate Tax department
• Mission: This person will assist with preparing various tax returns and monthly tax accounting duties, introducing students to a corporate tax environment.
• Tech Stack: MS Office, Excel

What You’ll Actually Do
• Tax Return Preparation: Assist with preparing various tax returns, including Sales & Use, Federal, State, and International income taxes.
• Monthly Tax Accounting: Help with monthly tax accounting duties, such as loading trial balance data and analyzing book-to-tax differences.
• Project Support: Contribute to other departmental projects as necessary.
• Professional Development: Work on actual responsibilities alongside experienced tax professionals.
• Onboarding & Training: Attend orientation to learn about Arconic’s culture and receive area-specific training designed for success.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or accounting. Requires an expected graduation date in late Fall 2027, Spring/Summer of 2028, or Spring/Summer of 2029. Must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
• Experience: No specific years required. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Skills: Proficiency in Excel is required, along with an overall level of expertise in MS Office environments. Possess strong analytical, team, and communication skills.
• Bonus: Involvement with one or more extracurricular activities, work-study or off-campus jobs, and/or volunteer positions. Preferred qualities include strong leadership competencies, strategic thinking skills, and enthusiasm for work in a fast-moving environment.
