Accounting and CFO Advisory Internship – Summer 2027 – San Jose | Frank, Rimerman + Co. LLP
The Tone:
This is an internship at Frank, Rimerman + Co. LLP, located in San Jose, CA. The company’s Accounting and CFO Advisory (ACFO) practice comprises over 60 professionals who manage accounting, finance, and HR functions for various startups. This role is crucial because it helps early and mid-stage companies by providing outsourced accounting, controller, and CFO advisory services, enabling entrepreneurs to concentrate on business growth. Interns will gain significant experience working with innovative companies and developing essential career skills.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Meetings: Attend client and engagement planning meetings.
• Transactions: Assist with processing client transactions.
• Month-End Close: Help clients complete their month-end financial record closes.
• Workpapers: Utilize analytical and technical skills to complete ACFO workpapers.
• Special Projects: Complete special projects, potentially including assisting clients with preparing for and evaluating funding rounds and mergers or acquisitions.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Enrolled in a Bachelor’s and/or Master’s program in business with an emphasis in accounting.
• Experience: Final graduation date with California CPA licensure eligibility between December 2027 and August 2028; at least one accounting course completed to be considered, and on track to complete a minimum of three accounting courses prior to the internship program.
• Skills: Demonstrates clear, professional written and oral communication; motivated to obtain CPA license; minimum overall GPA of 3.2 with “B” grades or above in accounting courses.
