Career Foundation Program (CFP) – Business Track | Smithfield Foods

The Tone:
This is a full-time, rotational program at Smithfield Foods, with opportunities across various company locations. What You’ll Actually Do
• Participate: Engage in 18-to-24-month function-specific rotations, specifically through areas such as Business Management, Sales, and Marketing, to gain comprehensive exposure to Smithfield’s operations.
• Contribute: Support the achievement of departmental short-term and long-term objectives by actively assisting in problem-solving and delivering high-level results that exceed expectations.
• Lead: Assume leadership roles for specific projects within assigned departments, taking initiative and ownership to drive project completion and success.
• Learn: Acquire in-depth knowledge about various aspects of the company’s business, receiving guidance, training, and partnership from senior leaders, assigned managers, mentors, and program managers.
• Apply: After 12 months in the program, actively seek and apply for suitable open positions within Smithfield Foods, leveraging acquired experience and career counseling from Talent Acquisition Specialists.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited four-year college or university, or currently enrolled with anticipated graduation by end of current semester. This is an entry-level program designed for recent college graduates.
• Experience: Proficient in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Must be authorized to work in the U.S. and able to relocate one to two times during the program, with up to 15-25% travel, including periodic overnight stays.
• Skills: Excellent written and oral communication. High level of professionalism, discretion, and self-management. Ability to work collaboratively and adapt quickly to new environments, showing initiative in taking on complex project responsibilities.
• Bonus: Possession of a valid state driver license with an acceptable driving record, depending on the specific rotational track.
