2027 Finance and Accounting Advisory Services Consulting Internship | Plante Moran
The Tone:
This is a full-time internship at Plante Moran, located in various offices across Colorado, Illinois, Ohio, and Massachusetts, with required travel. Plante Moran is one of the nation’s largest audit, tax, consulting, and wealth management firms, known for its world-class culture. This role is instrumental in serving clients by focusing on their critical business needs, helping to manage growth, leverage resources, and mitigate costs and risks, directly impacting their overall business.

• Mission: To serve clients by addressing critical business needs through advisory services that help manage growth, leverage resources, and mitigate costs and risks.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Financial Statement Evaluation: Evaluate reported financial statements for compliance with GAAP and develop standardized daily, weekly, or monthly financial reporting packages, including KPIs and trend analysis.
• Liquidity Reporting: Develop and assist with internal and external liquidity management reporting requirements for clients.
• Tool Development: Develop accounting and finance tools or templates for efficient use on future client engagements.
• Consulting & Collaboration: Collaborate with other consultants and clients to identify and recommend continuous improvement opportunities.
• GAAP Implementation: Assist consulting teams with the implementation of various GAAP standards at client sites, such as ASC606, ASC842, ASC805, and cash-to-GAAP conversions.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level. Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance with a minor in accounting, or a related field.
• Experience: Academic success demonstrated by a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
• Skills: Detail-oriented leadership, problem-solving, strong communication, critical thinking, organizational abilities, and technical skills.
• Bonus: Proficiency with Excel; on track to complete the requisite degree and supporting credits to sit for the CPA exam, with the goal of successfully obtaining CPA license.
