Staff Accountant | Ocorian

The Tone:

This role is crucial in delivering accurate accounting and financial reporting for a portfolio of private funds, ensuring clients receive high-standard services and deadlines are met.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Accounting Records: Maintain accurate accounting records for assigned funds, including journal entries, general ledger maintenance, and bank reconciliations.
• Investor Reporting: Prepare capital call and distribution notices, partner allocations, and investor reporting, including capital account statements and performance metrics.
• Financial Statement Production: Produce financial statements and related disclosures in accordance with US GAAP.
• Stakeholder Relationship Management: Build and maintain effective relationships with clients, investors, auditors, and other professional advisers, responding to queries and supporting reporting and audit processes.
• Compliance and Process Improvement: Ensure regulatory, statutory, and client reporting requirements are met while adhering to internal policies, procedures, and industry best practices, and contribute to process improvements and internal controls.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, with strong accounting knowledge and the ability to apply accounting principles practically.
• Experience: Previous experience in fund accounting, finance, or a similar accounting role is preferred.
• Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, highly organized with attention to detail, and advanced Excel skills.
• Bonus: CPA qualification and/or Master’s degree, knowledge of US GAAP.
