Manager in Training | PLS Logistics Services

The Tone:
This is a full-time Manager in Training program at PLS Logistics Services, located in St. Louis, MO. PLS Logistics Services is a leading third-party logistics (3PL) provider. This role is crucial for developing the next generation of logistics leaders through a comprehensive 4-month rotational experience. It provides hands-on exposure to every core function, including sales, operations, marketing, finance, human resources, and national accounts, preparing individuals for leadership within the industry.

• Mission: To gain hands-on experience in every core function of a leading third-party logistics (3PL) provider to develop future logistics leaders.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Sales Training: Learn to build a book of business, negotiate pricing, and close deals in freight brokerage.
• Operations Training: Dive into carrier management, shipment coverage, and service resolution.
• Corporate Rotations: Gain exposure to key business functions including marketing, finance, human resources, and national accounts.
• Client Management: Master freight brokerage sales and client management.
• Problem Resolution: Tackle real client service issues and see them through to resolution.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level. A bachelor’s degree (or nearing completion) in a related field.
• Experience: 0–2 years of sales or related experience. Demonstrated leadership experience through academics, athletics, or extracurricular involvement.
• Skills: Confidence in networking and public speaking. An entrepreneurial mindset with corresponding drive.
• Bonus: Willingness to relocate to a PLS branch after program completion. Strong campus or community involvement (Greek life, clubs, service).
