This Accountant role is crucial for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting, contributing to both Statutory and GAAP compliance, and providing vital analytical support to management.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Ensure accounting transactions are prepared and recorded accurately and in a timely manner.
• Reconcile multiple accounts from various accounting systems on daily, monthly, and annual bases.
• Assist in the preparation of financial statements for Statutory and GAAP reporting, including explaining variances.
• Monitor Key Performance Indicator (KPI) reporting, investigate variances, and assist with premium taxes and state reporting requirements.
• Create ad hoc reports, document procedures, and identify and help resolve unique reconciliation or posting issues.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent education/experience.
• Experience: One to two years of experience in an accounting role. Intermediate Excel knowledge is required.
• Skills: Strong organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail, excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work independently.
• Bonus: One to two years of insurance background is desired.
