Accounting Specialist | Pacific Legacy, Inc.

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Pacific Legacy, Inc., located on-site in Folsom, CA. Pacific Legacy is a small business dedicated to delivering quality archaeological and cultural resource management services, assisting clients with regulatory compliance and integrated historic preservation programs. This Accounting Specialist position is an integral part of the Business Office, providing essential accounting support and excellent customer service within a collaborative, multi-office environment. This role offers hands-on training and mentorship, providing an ideal foundation for building a career in accounting and gradually taking on more complex responsibilities.

• Mission: Provides foundational accounting support to a multi-office team, ensuring smooth financial operations and excellent customer service.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Process Transactions: Assist with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, including preparing vendor and subcontractor invoices for check runs and entering bank deposits.
• Reconcile Statements: Reconcile vendor statements to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records.
• Support Collections: Aid in collections efforts by tracking customer payments and sending necessary follow-up emails.
• Assist Payroll and Expenses: Support semi-monthly payroll processing and related tasks, along with assisting with employee timesheets and expense reports.
• Maintain Documentation and Controls: Document and update Accounting Department policies and procedures, assist with 1099 processing, and maintain security and confidentiality for all departmental documents.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-level career seeking, with an Associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field, or equivalent experience in accounting or business.
• Experience: Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
• Skills: Excellent attention to detail, strong organizational abilities, an analytical and data-driven mindset, and effective interpersonal and communication skills.
