Fixed Asset Accountant | ATR International

This is a hybrid role at ATR International, located in Austin, TX. ATR International is a staffing and consulting firm, and this position plays a critical part in ensuring the financial integrity and compliance of fixed asset accounting for a client. The role is vital for accurate financial reporting, robust control environments, and adherence to established accounting standards and policies.

• Mission: This role is responsible for the accurate financial recording, tracking, and reporting of fixed assets, ensuring compliance with company policies, GAAP, and SOX controls.
• Tech Stack: SAP, Spreadsheet tools, Database tools
What You’ll Actually Do
• Analyze: Analyze capital purchases and accurately record the cost of newly acquired tangible and intangible fixed assets.
• Manage: Track existing fixed assets, record depreciation, and account for asset disposition within the SAP Fixed Asset Accounting module.
• Prepare: Prepare comprehensive accounting analysis, journal entries, reconciliations, quarterly schedules and reports, and perform construction-in-progress and fixed assets inventory audits.
• Ensure Compliance: Ensure all financial data is recorded in adherence to established company policies and GAAP, while maintaining strict SOX controls compliance.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required. This role demands foundational knowledge in financial accounting principles relevant to fixed assets.
• Experience: Candidates must possess experience in fixed assets or a related accounting field. Preferred experience includes working in a multinational corporate environment or a blend of corporate and public accounting/consulting firm experience. A strong working knowledge of ERP systems, preferably SAP, is also required.
• Skills: High proficiency with data analysis and advanced knowledge of spreadsheet and database tools are essential. Outstanding attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a proven track record of driving a strong controls environment are critical. The role also requires a strong customer service orientation and a results-oriented approach with demonstrated initiative in driving efficiencies.
• Bonus: A CPA certification or a Master’s degree is a plus. Experience within a technology company, especially one with a strong retail emphasis, is preferred.
