Cost Accountant | DeZURIK

The Tone:
This is an onsite position working four 10-hour days per week at DeZURIK’s manufacturing operation in Gastonia, North Carolina, specifically supporting the Red Valve brand. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with plant leadership and gain deep operational insight. The Cost Accountant will make a direct impact on business performance through accurate costing, inventory management, and financial analysis, playing a critical role in strengthening processes and supporting the organization’s growth as production volumes increase.

• Mission: Owns the accuracy of standard costs, inventory, and manufacturing financial data, providing analysis to support operational improvements and business growth.
• Tech Stack: Excel, ERP systems, MRP systems

What You’ll Actually Do
• Maintain Data: Maintain standard costs, ensure inventory accuracy, and manage manufacturing financial data.
• Execute Processes: Execute precise cost rolls, thoroughly review Bills of Material for accuracy, and support efforts for data integrity.
• Manage Inventory: Support physical cycle count processes, accurately reconcile inventory balances, and investigate discrepancies.
• Financial Closing: Actively participate in month-end close activities, preparing journal entries, calculating accruals, and completing account reconciliations.
• Analyze Performance: Analyze manufacturing variances, identify underlying trends, and collaborate with Operations, Purchasing, and Engineering to drive corrective actions and cost improvement initiatives.

• Background: Entry-Level. Solid understanding of accounting principles.
• Experience: Experience working with ERP or MRP systems.
• Skills: Strong Excel skills, analytical thinking, attention to detail, strong communication skills.
