Entry Level Accounting Clerk | Addison Group
The Tone:
This is a temporary-to-permanent early career opportunity at Addison Group’s client, located in Pawtucket, RI. The client is a growing business services organization seeking support for a critical accounts receivable cleanup project. This role provides a great opportunity for someone early in their accounting career to gain hands-on experience with the AR process. It offers exposure to a large, complex environment and presents strong potential for conversion to a permanent role after the project’s successful completion.

• Mission: To support an accounts receivable cleanup project and ensure the accuracy of financial records.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Reconciliation & Cleanup: Actively assist with accounts receivable reconciliation and comprehensive cleanup efforts across various internal systems to ensure data consistency.
• Discrepancy Resolution: Support critical aging analysis processes, identify discrepancies across customer accounts, and collaborate with team members to research and resolve outstanding and aged AR items efficiently.
• Data Validation: Perform diligent data scrubbing and thorough validation tasks to ensure the utmost accuracy and integrity of all financial records pertinent to the project.
• Payment Processing: Provide essential support for cash application and payment posting activities as needed, contributing to the timely and accurate recording of transactions.
• Reporting & Documentation: Support crucial month-end close activities, including necessary reconciliations and reporting, while maintaining organized documentation and diligent tracking of cleanup progress.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field. This position is explicitly designed as an entry-level opportunity within the accounting profession.
• Experience: Requires 0-2 years of accounting or finance experience, with internship experience being highly valued and considered. The successful candidate will be comfortable with frequent outreach to clients and adept at troubleshooting client issues and requests.
• Skills: Possess a detail-oriented mindset coupled with strong organizational and analytical skills essential for managing complex data. Must be comfortable working with large volumes of data and navigating ambiguity. Demonstrates strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively cross-functionally within a team environment.
• Bonus: Prior exposure to Accounts Receivable (AR) processes, financial reconciliations, or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems would be a significant advantage.
