Inventory & Cost Accounting Manager | ACT Entertainment
The Tone:
This is a full-time role at ACT Entertainment, located remotely across the U.S. ACT Entertainment has spent over 40 years driving innovation in the entertainment industry, and the company is currently growing. This role is critical for building the inventory accounting function from a position of real influence, reporting directly to the CFO and partnering with executive leadership across the company. This position offers a highly visible seat at the table with genuine ownership of a critical function.

• Pay: $90000–$110000 yearly
• Team: Finance team, reports to the Chief Financial Officer
• Mission: Leads the accounting, valuation, costing, and financial management of inventory across multiple business divisions and warehouse locations.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Own and lead inventory accounting and financial reporting across ACT Entertainment’s multiple divisions and warehouse locations.
• Maintain accurate inventory valuation using standard cost, average cost, and other appropriate methodologies, including managing cost rolls and revaluations.
• Analyze purchase price variances, manufacturing variances, and inventory discrepancies while ensuring inventory subledgers reconcile to the general ledger.
• Partner with warehouse and manufacturing managers on physical inventories, cycle counts, movement, and accuracy, developing improved inventory controls and procedures.
• Support Controllers with accurate month-end and year-end financial reporting, lead audit activities, and recommend process improvements within ERP systems and inventory workflows.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Subject matter expert in inventory accounting, valuation, costing, and financial management, with a strong understanding of U.S. GAAP.
• Experience: Proven experience leading and managing inventory accounting and financial reporting processes, including cost rolls, valuation adjustments, variance analysis, and cross-functional partnership with Operations and Supply Chain.
• Skills: Expertise in U.S. GAAP for inventory, standard and average costing methodologies, general ledger reconciliation, and supporting external audits and ERP system improvements.
