What You’ll Actually Do
• Process financial transactions: Handle weekly and monthly processing of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
• Reconcile financial statements: Perform bank account and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Prepare financial reports: Generate monthly financial statements and conduct related analysis.
• Monitor grants and cash flow: Track and monitor grant activity, and project and monitor cash flow.
• Support external audits: Prepare necessary documentation and information for outside audits.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Accounting or Finance, to support nonprofit organizations with their accounting needs.
• Experience: Minimum 3 years of related accounting experience in public accounting or industry, with 5+ years preferred, demonstrating comfort with multiple clients both virtually and on-site.
• Skills: Outstanding communication skills, a positive attitude, and intermediate-level Excel proficiency, along with a willingness to travel to client offices as needed.
• Bonus: Prior nonprofit accounting experience, knowledge of or interest in learning multiple accounting software packages, and QuickBooks experience.
