While open to fully remote candidates depending on credentials, a strong preference is given to individuals located in the Greater Seattle Area or Pacific Northwest Region who can support core office hours. • Mission: Keep the family law practice’s cash flow healthy and its clients informed while ensuring invoices are accurate and trust accounts reconcile every month.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Client Billing: Ensure the timely and accurate generation and distribution of client invoices, reflecting services rendered and expenses, to maintain consistent firm revenue.
• Trust Account Management: Maintain meticulous and accurate records for all client trust accounts, performing regular reconciliations to ensure compliance and financial integrity.
• Cash Flow Optimization: Collaborate actively with the collections team to monitor and improve cash flow metrics, contributing to the overall financial stability of the practice.
• Client Relations: Provide excellent customer service with tact and empathy, particularly when communicating with clients about billing and financial matters during emotionally difficult periods.
• Operational Excellence: Proactively identify opportunities to enhance firm operations and accounting initiatives, including engaging in cross-training to serve as a backup for various accounting functions.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Demonstrated core domain knowledge in accounting, finance, or general business principles, providing a solid foundation for managing legal billing and financial operations.
• Experience: A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in accounting or legal billing environments, with a strong preference for candidates who have specific experience in legal billing. This includes proven ability in performing complex financial reconciliations.
• Skills: Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel, encompassing the use of formulas, filtering, sorting, and pivot tables for data analysis. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills are essential, coupled with the ability to convey information with tact and empathy, especially when interacting with clients in sensitive situations.
• Bonus: An Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business, which is preferred to strengthen foundational knowledge. Direct experience within legal billing, which is strongly preferred, would be a significant asset for this role.
