Junior Accountant | CFS

The Tone:
This is a full-time, onsite role for a Junior Accountant at CFS, located in Columbus, OH. Our client is a growing management company with over 20 locations across the Midwest. This position is crucial for supporting the company’s expansion by ensuring financial accuracy and contributing directly to the Finance and Operation Management Team. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining robust financial records and assisting with critical accounting functions.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Reconcile: Perform weekly bank statement reconciliations to ensure financial records align.
• Analyze: Analyze the general ledger for accuracy and prepare necessary journal entries.
• Support: Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes, including the annual audit.
• Maintain: Monitor, analyze, and reconcile various balance sheet accounts such as prepaid expenses, receivables, and accruals.
• Prepare: Prepare monthly and quarterly state sales tax returns.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Associates or Bachelor of Science in Accounting. This is an early-career accounting role.
• Experience: None explicitly required, but prior experience working within an accounting or finance department is desirable.
• Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities; excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize and multitask; proficiency in Microsoft Office, with emphasis on Excel; ability to work independently and as part of a team.
