The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Parkway Advisors, a subsidiary of Directors Investment Group, located in Abilene, TX. Directors Investment Group is dedicated to serving the funeral profession by helping funeral homes enhance their service to families. Parkway Advisors provides customized investment advisory, consulting, and reporting services to clients. This Staff Accountant role is crucial for ensuring the financial accuracy and integrity of the organization, supporting both the core operations and client services.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate monthly financials for Parkway LP and Holding Companies.
• Client Billing: Calculate quarterly advisory fees and prepare corresponding billing statements.
• Financial Planning Support: Assist in the preparation of the Budget and Business plans.
• Cash Management: Process client payments in QuickBooks, prepare deposit slips, and manage bank deposits.
• Reconciliation & Compliance: Reconcile bank accounts and compile necessary information for Parkway’s income tax returns, including preparing Forms 1099-NEC.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Experience: Proficiency in QuickBooks and QuickBooks Online; demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive information.
• Skills: Proficient knowledge and use of Microsoft Office (with strong Excel skills); excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills; ability to problem-solve and be self-motivated.
• Bonus: Proven ability to be an effective leader and team player; adaptability to change and willingness to incorporate new ideas; eagerness to learn from all departments (Investments, Statutory Accounting, Consulting, SEC Compliance).
